This year in the classroom, we will be incorporating some technology sources to help with your students education. For Social Studies we will be covering a lot of different events, states, presidents, and other important history times. I thought that since the students are needing to experience technology, we will have Presentations that they will prepare in the classroom. Along with that the students will set up blog accounts in the classroom and do all their blogging at school. This will not be anything that the parents have to worry about at home. This will help me to have the students opinions and thoughts about the things we discuss in class, then the other students can respond to all these posts. I will access this daily and parents can also access this at home so they could read the way their child is thinking about topics we discuss.
I am not setting this blog up for students to have extra homework or anything extra for home, this allows the students to have experience with this before they have higher technology they will be working with. Any projects that requires the students to do research will be done at school. I just want your children to be aware of all the technology available that they will need to be familiar with. I hope that you and your child understand that this is nothing to be alarmed or to worry about, this will be fun. I also have a e-portfolio that the students and parents will have access to. The e-portfolio will be something that will be updated and will let parents know what is going on in the classroom.
